What "good data" means in this sector
Cement's footprint is dominated by calcination — CO2 released from the limestone itself, independent of fuel. That makes proper process-emissions accounting non-negotiable. What your buyer's verifier needs to see:
The cement producer's data package
- Production volumes per installation — monthly, reconciled with your records.
- Fuel consumption by type — kilns, generators, machinery, fleet.
- Electricity consumption — calculated with your country's actual grid factor, not an EU average.
- Process emissions from calcination — clinker and lime, measured, not inferred.
- Factors and documentation — named, versioned sources, and a calculation a third party can re-trace.
